Angiotensin skin tests.

چکیده
MANY ATTEMPTS have been made to establish the relationship between angiotensin, human hypertension, and experimental hypertension. Three groups have reported the successful demonstration of a pressor material in varying amounts in the blood of patients with benign and malignant hypertension.-3 Boucher, Biron, and Genest2 claim that the material they isolated gave pressor reactions, chemical reactions, and chromatographic and electrophoretic findings similar to those of pure angiotensin. They have also reported the presence of a depressor fraction in blood. The isolation of a relatively small amount of angiotensin in normotensives and the presence of this depressor fraction suggest that the homeostatic regulation of blood pressure involves, in some measure, the antagonistic activity of these components. The depressor material demonstrated in the blood by Boucher et al. is too small, however, to enable comparison with the antipressor material isolated from the kidney by Jablons.4 5

Formulation, In-vitro Evaluations and Skin Irritation Study of Losartan Potassium Transdermal Patches
Losartan potassium is a well known orally active non-peptide angiotensin II receptor antagonist. Losartan potassium and its principle active metabolites block the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone secreting effect of angiotensin II by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to AT1 receptors. The drug is reported to promote the decrease in ventricular hypertrophy, salt ...
متن کاملDifferences between squamous cell carcinoma and keratoacanthoma in angiotensin type-1 receptor expression.
Angiotensin II receptors are the specific receptors of angiotensin II of the renin-angiotensin system. The existence and role of the receptors in the skin have not been determined. We immunohistochemically studied the expression of angiotensin receptors in the human skin. The results demonstrated the expression of angiotensin type 1 receptor (AT1) in the normal human suprabasal epidermis. The e...
متن کاملAngiotensin-(1-7) increases osmotic water permeability in isolated toad skin.
Angiotensin-(1-7) (Ang-(1-7)) increased osmotic water permeability in the isolated toad skin, a tissue with functional properties similar to those of the distal mammalian nephron. Concentrations of 0.1 to 10 microM were effective, with a peak at 20 min. This effect was similar in magnitude to that of frog skin angiotensin II (Ang II) and oxytocin but lower than that of human Ang II and arginine...
متن کاملManagement of Hypersensitivity Reactions to Proton Pump Inhibitors: A Retrospective Experience.
BACKGROUND We previously reported perfect specificity and low sensitivity of skin tests in proton pump inhibitor (PPI)-induced immediate hypersensitivity reactions in a prospective multicenter study. Here, in a retrospective study, we aimed to further evaluate the diagnostic workup procedures and characteristics of the patients with suspected PPI hypersensitivity. METHODS This national multic...
متن کاملACE and ACE2 expression in normal and malignant skin lesions.
The renin-angiotensin system (RAS) is known mainly as a regulator of cardiovascular homeostasis. However, it has also been shown to mediate processes such as proliferation, apoptosis, angiogenesis, and carcinogenesis. Nonmelanoma skin cancers (NMSC) - including basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) - are among the most common cancers. The aim of the present study was to d...
